The Ankeny Regional Airport in Iowa received a U.S. Department of Transportation grant to help purchase land for a runway clearance. The airport received a grant for $1.2 million toward the $1.7 million purchase of land. The airport authority closed on the purchase for the 24.5 acres last week.
